Establishment of the EAC Science Technology and Innovation (STI) Forum

In line with the EASTECO Strategic Plan, the Commission, in collaboration with the IUCEA, initiated the establishment and operationalization EAC STI Forum. The EAC STI Forum is a regional initiative formed of two main components: The East African Journal of Science, Technology and Innovation (EAJSTI) and The EAC Regional Conferences for Science, Technology and Innovation (an Annual Academia, Public and Private sector Conference). In addition, the Forum supports relevant associated activities such as Training in Entrepreneurship Skills and Training in Scientific Paper Writing.

The establishment of an EAC Forum for Science, Technology and Innovation was partly funded by the African. The overall objective of the EAC Regional STI Forum is to provide a platform for information sharing and reference on knowledge and technology development processes for selected themes and sectors of the regional (EAC) economies.
