The East African Science and Technology Commission (EASTECO)

East African Science and Technology Commission (EASTECO) is the EAC agency mandated to promote and coordinate the development, management and application of science, technology and innovation (STI) activities in the region. The relevance of EASTECO’s role on coordinating STI activities in the region is largely seen in the EAC focus on the improvement of its global competitiveness for faster and sustainable economic growth with the intention of becoming an industrialized region, with STI as a key driver of socio-economic development and progressive growth.
