EASTECO and The Government of the Republic of Estonia have signed an MoU on cooperation on 31st August 2020.

This cooperation agreement between EASTECO and the Republic of Estonia is the first memorandum to be signed virtually and will establish the basis for cooperation in the field of information and communication technology between EASTECO and the ICT cluster as the implementing body.

Some of the key activities in this agreement include but not limited to:

a) Implementation of digital ID.

b) Promoting cooperation of ICT companies.

c) Awareness building on cyber security and protection of critical infrastructure.

d) Support the EASTECO in developing the digital agenda policy and strategy on e-Governance and Digital Transformation for Africa.

e) Work together for the establishment of the East African Community e-Governance training programs and regional competence hubs for the EAC Partner States.
